A new year & another year of action packed events at IED.

Firstly, some news of additional services IED Airsoft is offering to Clients.

We are delighted to annouce that we have launched a Repairs & Upgrades service for airsoft RIF's. From our established workshop in the midlands we are offering IED Clients an excellent value for money service in order to get the best out of their pride & joy. For full details follow this link. Secondly, we are also soon going to be selling high specification RIF's. Sold to order only, we will be launching a new area of the website very soon providing IED Clients with the best prices we can offer on leading makes of airsoft weapons & spares.

The 2012 event calender kicks off in high gear beginning on 29th January with Operation Fire Storm, a mission within the ongoing real time scenario (Operation Grand Slam) we are running based upon a future war situation in the Ukraine following a Russian invasion & subsequent EU involvement. Action has moved north a few klicks to the border itself. Check the forum for latest info.

More events are on the way throughout the year including at least two 24hr training packages under our OPTAG banner providing basic & intermediate level training for keen airsofters.

We are also going to be announcing a significant & exciting number of site additions to the IED portfolio including up to 3 new urban sites on both Ministry of Defence & private locations. This has been an ongoing process but we can happily report that we are in the very final stages of negotiations & dates are being processed as of January. A full announcement will be forthcoming very very soon.

Since the downfall of the Western Samaran dictator, Muammer Al Daquaffi, in the summer of 2011, the remnants of his supporters have been pushed back into the Samaran interior & are fighting a savage guerrilla war lead by his only surviving son, Mohammed.

During their withdrawal through the winter of 2011/2012 several WSA weapons storage sites, secured by UN monitoring teams under the terms of the WMD non-proliferation treaty signed by Daquaffi in 2006, were overrun & ransacked.

US satellite overflights have detected what could be radioactive heat blooms & there is strong evidence that WSA forces have the basic equipment available to create low yield radioactive dirty suitcase bombs.

Intelligence has also been received regarding the arrival in neighbouring Chad of a group of well armed ‘civilians’, hired by a German arms company with ties to Saddam Hussein's regime & who secretly supplied them with NBC pre-cursor material in the 1990's during the UN embargo. Investigations by Interpol & German police at the time, failed to find evidence of official involvement & the company has been a long term target of the authorities although intel suggests rogue elements of the German government are protecting certain Company personalities. An MI6 deep cover asset is with the mercenary team & is in covert communication with GCHQ passing real time intelligence to NATO strike teams in theatre.

The asset, codename PRIEST, has passed information that hard copy data is carried by the command cadre of the team in the form of signed letters of agreement & a data disc of video surveillance footage covertly taken during meetings with the German arms company as insurance. PRIEST has also passed information that unknown senior executives in the arms company have connections to global terror networks & have no compunction in selling WMD material to the highest bidder. Their identities are revealed within the letters of agreement.

Operation Grand Slam II - 24hr BattleSim Event

Following the Russian attack 2 days ago, EUTAF recce elements have managed to delay the initial thrusts along the heavy valleys on the Ukrainian side of the border. Despite suffering heavy losses the EUTAF force has dug in across the line of the Russian advance but is desperately short of ammunition & reinforcements. Tired & battle weary they are holding the thin line against an increasingly strong Russian onslaught. Behind them, EUTAF command is mobilising all forces as fast as possible to thwart any renewed Russian attempts to breach the valleys & gain the open ground to the south allowing their heavy armour to deploy en-masse. EUTAF heavy armour are only just beginning to arrive via the logisitics air bridge but are not expected to reach the FEBA for at least 48hrs in any strength.

Meanwhile on the Russian side of the lines, the Red Skorpion special forces unit is licking its wounds following the stalemate of the preceding two days of combat. Fresh troops are moving in to support & replace battle casualties & Russian commanders are re-organising their forces for a renewed assault. The EUTAF line must be breached within 24 hours before their heavy armour arrives in theatre.

Operation Grey Goose IV - 24hr Escape & Evasion Exercise

What is an Escape & Evasion Exercise?

It is 24hrs as an evader working in pairs but sometimes alone & being hunted by a determined enemy including experienced serving & ex-UK forces well equipped with vehicles, radios & the occasional search dog team complete with warm tents & sleeping bags.

As the scattered survivors of a Special Forces patrol, forced to bail out of their doomed aircraft shot down over enemy territory, evaders will have 24hrs to escape & reach safety. In that time you must navigate your way in two man teams around numerous waypoints retrieving cached kit, intelligence data or meeting local intelligence agents. Without the kit & information you cannot reach your final destination for extraction or attempt any possible missions that local friendly HUMINT contacts may order you to undertake.

While the Hunter Force enjoys some creature comforts you, as an evader, with barely any food, no sleeping bag & very limited ammunition have to navigate to the grid references while enemy patrols search for you endlessly scouring the area & looking under every bush for you, their quarry.

Should you be unlucky enough to be captured you will be taken to the enemy command location for rigorous interrogation. They will want the information you have.

Can you survive for 24hrs out there?

Operation Daedulus - 24hr BattleSim Event

Tensions between North Korea (DPRK) and South Korea (ROK) have grown significantly following acrimonious exchanges between the two governments. The accession of Kim Jung-un as absolute Head of State in DPRK has prompted several factions in the military command, who effectively control the state, into flexing their muscles in an attempt to demonstrate their iron grip. The Prime minister of ROK Kim Hwang-sik has reiterated his determination to resist any aggrandisement. On 15 June 2012 exchanges of gunfire across the Demarcation Zone (DMZ) along the 38th Parallel escalated into an artillery bombardment with casualties on both sides of the border. The UN General Assembly has called an emergency Security Council meeting to discuss how to handle the mounting tension. Hillary Clinton, the US Secretary of State has flown to Seoul for urgent meetings with the ROK. Her Chinese counterpart, Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi has visited Pyongyang. Both Ministers are exasperated by the reluctance of DPRK and ROK to conciliate but both feel obliged to support their Allies. The world waits with bated breath as a potential nuclear conflict threatens.

On 21 June DPRK hammers a breach into the DMZ to the south-east of Kaesong and thrusts headlong towards Seoul, capital of ROK. The US and British are forced to act at the request of ROK sending a QRF to assist ROK forces in stemming the DPRK assault.

In the region of Lom Chen DPRK airborne forces have moved to capture several hilltops which potentially could act as a launch pad for tactical nuclear weapons in which to threaten Seoul. The DPRK forces attempt to bring in missiles by road to the hilltops. US helicopters are brought on-shore near Inchon to deploy a mix of US, British and ROK infantry to stop the convoys, acquire the missiles and to seize the potential hilltop launch sites. Major resistance is expected from the highly committed and well-equipped DPRK forces.

The world waits aghast. A major Superpower confrontation and nuclear catastrophe threatens.

OPTAG - Weekend Training Event

April 14/15th 2012

We are hosting a training weekend for any interested airsofters who would like to learn a few key skills & improve their current skillset. Experienced Directing Staff will be on hand to give you guidance through the 6 Section Battle Drills & various aspects of Fieldcraft concentrating on Movement.

The topics will be geared towards personnel with an intermediate level of current skills so you won't be taught to suck eggs.
We won't be covering the basics of Cam & Concealment as we would expect most people to have these skills covered. We will cover elements of C&C where it is part of the rest of the syllabus.

This is not solely military training - it is designed to be entirely applicable to the tactics used in airsoft events week in week out around the country.

The main ares covered will be:

Tactical Movement

Within these areas we will cover ambush & counter ambush drills & nightime operations.
